Mua Mission
Mua Mission was built by the Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers) over 100 years ago. Today it is famous for its wood carvings and an interesting cultural museum. It is about a one hour drive away from the pottery and lodge and is a highly recommended day out.
Father Claude Boucher, originally from Canada, spends much of his life at Mua Mission teaching carving and painting, studying Malawian traditions, and interpreting the gospels into a Malawian context. In the year 2000 he opened Chamare Museum to present the different Malawian cultures.
